Place becomes woven into who we are and shapes who we become.
For me, that place has always been the Hudson Valley. After earning a degree in Biology at SUNY New Paltz I followed that connection through work in the local landscape leading educational forest walks, teaching yoga and founding Nature Is Calling, a Hudson Valley wellness company rooted in nature, movement, and intentional living.
That same perspective shapes the way I approach real estate. I’m drawn to homes with character, land with possibility, and the details that give each place its own story. My background in science trained a thoughtful mind and observant eyes, while my work in wellness has taught me the value of slowing down, staying present, and listening. I bring those perspectives with me when researching properties, navigating negotiations, and guiding clients through the many moving pieces of a transaction.
My husband, Riley, is the founder of Shadow Builders, and his work has given me an inside look at how new builds and renovations actually come together. Our work sometimes overlaps giving us the opportunity to collaborate with clients on both sides of the process. Whenever possible our whole family comes along for the adventure weaving showings and site visits into family trips to the trails, farms, and shops that make the Hudson Valley home.
Saturday mornings often find us gathered around the kitchen, Riley running payroll at the table while our three-year-old conducts her own pretend client calls discussing the design of her latest Magna-Tile build. I’m usually brewing lattes with one hand and bouncing our sweet baby in the other, pausing every so often to soak it all in. Something inevitably overcooks, or overflows, and eventually the rainbow structure comes crashing down around us all. We take a deep breath, share a laugh, reinforce the corners with a little bracing, and keep building. Shadow is never far away, patiently waiting for the okay to clean up and go out to play ball. There’s always a lot happening at once, onsite and off but we’ve learned to find our rhythm in it, and most importantly enjoy the process together.
And thats what i hope to help others find here, too! A place that feels like home and provides the space to build a life they love.
